One of my favourite new releases. Unusually written in a single
chapter this book is about developing tribes of like-minded people
to deliver great results.
'There are tribes everywhere, all of them hungry for connection,
meaning and change. And yet, too many people ignore the opportunity
to lead, because they are "sheepwalking" their way through their
lives and work, too afraid to question whether their compliance is
doing them (or their company) any good. This book is for those who
don't want to be sheep and instead have a desire to do fresh and
exciting work. If you have a passion for what you want to do and
the drive to make it happen, there is a tribe of fellow employees,
or customers, or investors, or readers, just waiting for you to
connect them with each other and lead them where they want to
go'
Well worth a read I reckon,

This is a fascinating book based on significant research. It
explains the psychology behind why people say 'yes' and includes
six universal principles and how to use them. It also helps us
understand why we may have allowed ourselves to have been tricked
into buying something we may not have wanted. In fact why sales has
in the past had a bad image.
Having read the book I decided to invite a kitchen company to
visit me to see if they changed their ways And yes they tried every
trick in the book. Rather than operating authentically and
professionally they were using the dark side of the principles. And
judging by the volume of negative comments posted on the web were
destroying their brand in the equation! Change your ways or there
will soon be an empty 'space' in the kitchen sector!

Trust, says Stephen M. R. Covey, is the very basis of the 21st
century's global economy, but its power is generally overlooked and
misunderstood. Covey shows you how to inspire immediate trust in
everyone you encounter - colleagues, constituents, the marketplace
- allowing you to forego the time-killing and energy-draining check
and balance bureaucracies that are so often relied upon in lieu of
actual trust. |

Think And Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill
The must read personal development book. A book that has
influenced many successful people and one I choose to read
regularly. Napoleon Hill was a reporter who was given a great
opportunity by Andrew Carnegie the steel magnate to write a book on
success. To do so he was given access to Andrews' personal address
book including some of the most famous people of his time. Henry
Ford, Thomas Edison, Dr Alexander Graham Bell to name a few. One of
my prize possessions is a beautiful limited edition of this book
given to me by my friend and mentor Helen Urwin. At the end of
September I will be running a weekly tele-seminar of this book. The
current programme is fully booked. However if you would like
information about future programmes then please click here for
details of the Think and Grow Rich teleseminar programme.

'The Great Depression Ahead - How to Prosper in the Crash
Following The Greatest Boom in History' by Harry S.Dent If you are
interested in Economics or managing you own wealth. Or the scale of
the recession for business planning then this book is for you.
Harry is becoming my hero when it comes to understanding and
predicting the market place. Back in 1989 he predicted the scale
and timing of the current recession. He also said that things would
start to feel better this summer (2009) before the next dip. He was
the economist who predicted the decline of Japan and someone who
many at the time ridiculed. Not now! He looks at the causes such as
demographics and not the effects. For anyone interested in business
planning and wealth I would recommend studying this. |
