principles of 'How to Be More to Achieve More'.

Yesterday, I was listening to a song by Jimi Hendrix called
'Castles in the Sand' and the lyrics reminded me of why this
material is so important. The lyric goes that 'Castles in the sand,
fall into the sea eventually'. If you want to create something that
is sustainable, you need firm foundations. It is what is on the
'inside' that determines how robust the structure is on the
'outside'. The reality is you have to work on both in tandem.
Many businesses come and go. Many successful people crumble and
fall. Take the challenges faced by BP with their reputation still
in tatters in the United States and beyond. There were some
foundations that were not stable in more than one sense. What was
hidden under the sea has threatened the entire organisation. What
is hidden inside us and our employees appears in their actions and
can determine the performance of the entire
organisation.
If our actions are not getting the results we want, we must first
look at our thinking. This is the first principle. Our actions
reflect the quality of our thinking and combined with making good
decisions are the foundation for our success in life. That applies
to you, your teams, your entire organisation.
