Where I learned to Public Speak

Tuesday, August 04, 2009 by Chris Cooper

I was recently asked where did you learn to speak? Well I have been practicing a new speaking approach for well over a year now after attending the Bill Gove Speech workshop (www.billgove.com). Steve Siebold who runs the programme and was Bill Goves partner is one of the worlds top grossing speakers. Since attending I have been putting videos onto You Tube which are assessed monthly. For example you can see this fun viniette (you will need a sense of humour) which was this months entry:

Next week, I shall be attending the Bill Gove speech workshop again. This time as an auditor. So far the value has been to to add further interest to my training events and also increased confidence when I have been appearing in front of a camera. It requires lots of unlearning of behaviour that we may have been taught in business. I'd recommend it if you are serious about becoming a speaker. My development is still very much work in progress, however, you can see how I get on at the Leicester Business event on October 1st at 2pm when I shall talking about Culture.
